2013 Daily Writing Practice

Category : True Stories Dec 24th, 2012

I’m big (if inconsistent) on daily writing practice. And some years ago during NaNoWriMo, some friends and I hit upon the idea of sharing a Google spreadsheet in which we could track our daily word counts. We found that the camaraderie, support, and efforts of fellow writers helped to keep us motivated in our daily commitment to writing.

So we’re back at it again – Shawn and I spent the past month in a 300 word/day writing commitment – and now I’d like to open it up to anyone else who is interested in joining our online writing group.

We’re ramping it up again on January 1 with 400 words/day. It’s simple. No expectations, constraints, or presuppositions as to what, where, when, or how you write. Only that you do. 400 words each day. And then log your word count in our shared spreadsheet here: bit.ly/writingpractice. The commitment will be through the month of January (with the idea of re-upping in February).

Comment below or email me at mark at runspotrun dotcom if you’re down, and I’ll add you to the spreadsheet.
