June 2016: Books to Read and Review
My stack has changed substantially since last month, with four new books joining Jenni Fagan’s still-unread The Sunlight Pilgrims. Here’s the current breakdown, as of mid-June:
The Sunlight Pilgrims by Jenni Fagan (Hogarth)
Borders by Roy Jacobsen (Graywolf Press)
Lions by Bonnie Nadzam (Black Cat)
The Hatred of Poetry by Ben Lerner (FSG Originals)
The Art of Fiction by James Salter (University of Virginia Press)
I’m excited about this batch because with the exception of James Salter I’ve never read anything by these writers. I find I tend to stick to the names I know when selecting books, so this is a particularly trailblazing spread for me.
What’s on your summer reading list?
