May 2017: Books to Read and Review
A special “moving day” edition of the monthly blog – by this time next month I *should* be in a new home somewhere across the country. My wife and I have lived in Brooklyn for the past eleven-plus years and its with a bittersweet excitement that we close out our lives in NYC and set our sights on the lovely mountain air of Colorado. My bookshelves are dis-assembled and have been dispersed into Banker’s Boxes and yet-to-be-packed stacks of new releases. I’m holding off on packing these books for May/June, as I’m aiming to get reviews of these online during the next few weeks of packing. From the top:
Augustown by Kei Miller (Pantheon)
Modern Gods by Nick Laird (Viking)
House of Names by Colm Toibin (Scribner)
Like a Fading Shadow by Antonio Munoz Molina (Farrar, Straus and Giroux)
