R.I.P. Tom Wolfe (1931-2018)
Sad to hear of Tom Wolfe’s passing yesterday. Wolfe, author of The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, The Bonfire of the Vanities and The Right Stuff, revolutionized journalism in the 1960s, the effects of which can still be felt today.
“What they all saw in a flash was the solution to the basic predicament of being human, the personal I, Me, trapped, mortal and helpless, in a vast impersonal It, the world around me.”
~ Tom Wolfe, The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test
